Arkansas requires boater education for younger operators. Anyone born on or after January 1, 1986 must complete an Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC)–approved boating education course and carry proof while operating a motorboat or sailboat on Arkansas waters. The boater education card is good for life.
Any person born on or after January 1, 1986 who is of legal age to operate a motorboat or sailboat must have successfully completed an approved AGFC boating education course and must carry proof of completion while operating on Arkansas water. Operators born before that date are not required to take the course.
Arkansas accepts AGFC-approved boating education courses, including approved online and in-person options. Once you complete the course, the boater education card is good for life.
